From Garter stitch to lace

I'm very happy to see how far I have come in my knitting class in 7 classes.
On the right is my homework for my first class...a strip of garter stitch (straight knitting).
On the left is actually 2 classes...the lower part is a snowflake that I made from a chart, and the upper part is 2 pattern repeats of a lace pattern.

Beautiful work, Suki! Very impressive! Have you tired continental style knitting again?

Thanks Salihan,
I think I'll try it after my knitting classes are over.
I did see a woman knitting continental style when I went to the Andy Warhol exhibition and I sat and chatted with her a bit.
It was amazing to see the small amount of movement that her hands made....very much like your video.
